A warm welcome back to Term 3. We hope you enjoyed spending some time at home with your children even with the rainy weather. A huge welcome to our new teachers who have joined us. Mrs Finau is in Room 19 and Mrs Manu in Room 11. We're excited to have them as part of our school community!
Thank you to all the families who took the time to attend our recent Learning Conversations. It was a beautiful evening and fantastic to see so many smiling faces meeting with teachers to share progress. Your support and partnership are truly valued. We especially wanted to make a big shout out to our Super Mum who brought along the newest member of our school community who was only 24 hours old! Kei runga noa atu koe, Whaea Terina!
Thank you to everyone who participated by filling in our survey about Reading. A special mention to our two amazing young men Joseph Vaimea and Joshua Nu’uhiva who supported us with our voice collection on the night. Congratulations to Ivy Hanipale and her family who are the winners of the $100 Pak n Save voucher.

We are also shining a spotlight on the arts this Term, and our students have been inspired by the amazing Instrument Show to explore music, movement and creativity in new ways. They investigated the following questions - What is sound? What is music? How do the instruments make sounds and are played? How can we make homemade instruments? This was a great way to spark interest for the rest of the Term.
Today some of the students from our Maunga and Rangi teams had the privilege to work alongside a famous local author, David Riley, in a Writers Workshop. He was inspirational and we look forward to working alongside him again later in the year.
Next week on Wednesday 30 July, our girls football team will represent Weymouth Primary School at the MPSSA Football tournament which will be held at McLennan Park. A very big thank you to Whaea Deidre for coaching our future White Ferns and preparing them for this day.
From 4 - 7th August we look forward to celebrating Cook Islands Language Week together. It’s a wonderful opportunity to honour culture, language, and identity.
Coming up in Week 4 Mrs Hodge and Mrs Pandey will be starting our Maths Together Workshops for parents/caregivers. This is a series of three workshops, if you are interested in attending please put your name and contact details down in the office.
Marching Monday and Walk to School Wednesday have started off with great participation! It’s wonderful to see so many walkers on these chilly mornings.
