CLASSES ARE OPEN AT 8.30PM
Students are encouraged to come to school at 8.30am and go straight to class. Children who are registered with our Before School Care are supervised in the hall from 7.30-8.30am. If you are a working family and need care before school, please see the office for a form.
LEAVING SCHOOL AT 3PM
It is great to see that our children are being safe by walking home with friends. We have been informed that some of these groups of children are not going straight home but lingering around the neighbourhood. For your own child’s safety, please discuss their after school arrangements so they get to their destination quickly and safely.
HOUSE SHIRTS
Every child receives a free house shirt when they enrol at our school. Our house shirts are worn every Monday and at special sporting events.
Has your child lost their house shirt? You can purchase a new one by paying $20 at the office.
Is your child’s t-shirt too small? If it is still in good condition, you can trade your old one in for a new one and pay $10 to the office.
WATER SPORTS DAY
Our students will be involved in a fabulous day of water activities on Friday 22 March. If you are free, come along and join in on the fun! They will need their swimming togs & towel, as well as a change of clothes. They will be able to wear their house shirts on this day as there will be House Points awarded at all the activities!
TREAD LIGHTLY CARAVAN
We have been very lucky to have the TLC mobile environmental classroom visit our school. Each of our classes have scheduled lessons with our TLC facilitator, learning about what they buy and eat, and how they travel, and use energy has an impact on the environment. Thank you to the whānau that have come in to help out during these lessons. We appreciate your support.
CRICKET
Thank you to Mrs Johnson who took a team of 6 students to the MPSSA Cricket Tournament held at Mountford Park. This was a modified version of cricket that allows each child to get the same amount of time of bowling and batting - learning to utilise their basic skills and have fun. Our star players: Finn, Christopher, Koby, Steven, Ashleen and Caleb played well together as a team, and enjoyed the wins alongside the losses. Congratulations team!
GRIP LEADERS CONFERENCE
Thank you to Miss Lavakula who took twenty of our student leaders to a GRIP Leaders Conference. Our students were given practical and hands-on activities, had opportunities to interact with leaders from other schools and work together to come up with fresh ideas that might enhance their school. Our students have come back with things to think about that will support them in their leadership roles here at Weymouth Primary School and in the future.
EASTER BREAK COMING UP
Please make sure that you have in your calendar the Easter Break. All schools are closed Friday 29 March - Tuesday 2 April. We come back to school on Wednesday 3 April.
